Sr. Engineer

This position will directly manage project designs through submittal, providing relevant calculations, and offering support to the field installation teamThe candidate should come prepared with an understanding of applicable design code, geotechnical information, project specifications and blueprintsThis position will oversee and provide reports on progress and issues that arise during the project life cycle under the supervision of the engineer managerPrimary
Responsibilities:
Manage Project WorkflowsUse given bridge loadings and site information to provide best-practice superstructures and foundations designs.
Apply proper standards and specifications such as AASHTO, ACI, AISC, ASCE, DOT, ADM, IBC, and any other structural codes as needed.
Maintain engineering standards, policies, best practices, and procedures at all timesProvide direct day to day support and oversight of project elements, with a specific interest in field work and the construction teamVisit sites to take measurements, answer contractor questions on behalf of the supervising engineer.
Serve as a liaison between engineering and construction personnel.
Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines and ensure team members stay on task daily in order to meet all deliverables set.
Gathering data for permit applications, submitting documentation to officials and making sure the change orders are logged and submitted to personnel throughout the construction processProvide technical support to sales personnel and customers regarding any questions relating to the design, manufacture, or installation of bridgesDay to day duties can vary depending on the project needs.
Prepare project reports.
Prepare calculations packages, review submittal and shop drawings for release to the customer and coordinate letters of conformance as or with the EOR.
Communicate with contractors, owners, regulatory agencies, and other engineering firms to ensure all project specifications are metPrepare progress reports and present them to engineers and other personnel.
Compare project schedules and budgets to expectations and report on any potential delays or issues arising during construction.
Work closely with contractors, technicians, and other engineers ensuring all team members understand their specific duties and expectations, providing senior management if there are any issues with the teamWork Closely with the drafting team to ensure all relevant design details are included in project submittal drawings and fabrication sheets.
Additional duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in structural design is a must.
Experience leading a team and projects is a plusExperience in the bridge industry, applying AASHTO standards is a plusExperience with structural foundation design is a plusAbility to work independently and learn quickly.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat softwareExperience working with G-suite software to include Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etcVery organized with a strong attention to detailDrafting knowledge, ability to understand site and fabrication drawings.
Knowledge of structural materials and fabricationProject management experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, or Equivalent balance of education and/or work experience5
years' experience in Structural Design 2 years prior Management or Supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
2 years project management experience Recommended Skills Adobe Acrobat Blueprinting Calculations Construction Design Codes Financial Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
